Basic idea to choose a bait for pikes in springtime or early summertime is to pay attention to water temperature. Rule number one is: the colder the water is, the larger and more colorful bait You have to use. When the temperatures are getting higher, the lures must have more living movements and the colors should be more natural baitfish colors.

TOP 4 for PERCHES

june_perch.jpg (15793 bytes)
A nice June perch.

1. Grub Twisters, 2-4": many colors
2. Worms and living baitfishes with Bombette
3. Small Wobblers
4. Spinners

1-2. Fishing on the bottom, 3 and 4 topwater

Perches are very hungry when they have spawned in early June. Natural baits are good to begin the season. Later At the end of June perches accept artificial lures, too.

TOP 4 for SEATROUTS
and
RAINBOWTROUTS

fishing_seatrouts.jpg (10506 bytes)
Irritation colors are needed when
fishing seatrouts in cold waters.

1. Different lightened spoons like EV Trutta or JK: Natural colors, cold water: irritation colors
2. Abu Toby Flash, 20g: Blue, green
3. Rapala Esko, 7cm: BR,FT, SP, SRT
4. Spinners

Seatrouts react in the beginning of the season on irritation colors and slowly sinking movements of the lures. In June to get them to hit more living action and natural baitfish colors are needed.
