Today, in the evening of 1st of may,
we wagged something else as flags: the rods, but peacefully. Results: 10
whitefishes, one over kilo. Even Saka caught!

Researching new water areas. One about kilos whitefish and same size
pike caught. Two good size about five and three kilos pikes were hanging
on Candyman Deceiver Fly but went away. The area is perfect!

green. Four whitefishes, too.

In the morning before lunchtime we caught twenty pikes (most of released).
No trouts seen.
After the lunch 49 pikes (most of released), biggest ones 6,3 and 4,7
kg. No trouts seen, yet. The weather was ok.

Fishing whitefishes in the same streaming sound between two
island as yesterday. 14 fishes 300-1000g. When going back home we
checked up a couple of hot spots, but nothing happened. Even Saka caught
fishes!

Six whitefishes 400-900 g, ten pikes 1,5-5,8 kilos. Two seatrouts
following the lure.

About 5 hours fishing in the evening. We caught 9 pikes, the biggest one
was 6,5 kilos and of course it was taken by Tawny! We saw
seatrouts, but could not to catch them.

Friday evening two hours fishing:
Bude 30 cm seatrout (released, minimum size 40 cm in Finland). Saka NF.
Saturday morning seatrout fishing seeking the warm water pockets. Bude
lost a nice seatrout, when the fish jumped high. It hit on Jensen's
Crocodile color neon green with black spots. A couple of pikes. Saka
again NF.
In the afternoon whitefish fishing in a streaming sound between two
island. Bude 9 fishes and a flounder. SAKA AGAIN NF!

4,6 kilos 87 cm searun seatrout at Puukoski area with self-made wobbler.

Jari, Make and ktl
Jari woke up early and fished alone
from six to seven thirty o´clock. Two seatrouts on-and-lost, plus some
hits. In the morning Make was flyfishing with a floating ring, but no
hits. After 8 o´clock we did not have even bites.
Again we had to change the species. To Ava and fishing whitefishes. This
was worth of doing, results: Jari more than 20 fishes, Make a bit under
20 and ktl 14 fishes. Pitty, the medium size was poor about 300g.

Rippe was fishing first time in his life
whitefishes with rod and reel. Still a nice saldo of the day. Two
persons fishing and over 30 fishes

One 94 cm salmon was caught in Rapid
Vaadit area at noon. In the lower parts of the river there
is a lot hunting going on. Seatrout are chasing smelts. One 70 cm, male
seatrout was caught there with a fly. The fish was released. Water
temperature is 5-6 centigrades.

Jari, Make and ktl
In the forenoon one hour fishing whitefishes,
but in vain. Because seatrouts were active, we changed the project fish
species. Results got better: Make 2 rainbow trouts (with Mutuleech
and Sikatinseli), Jari one rainbow with yellow leech and ktl seatrouts
1920 g (EV-Trutta, color Henkka Noutaja) and 2450 g with Inkoo (18 g,
yellow hologram ).

Tuesday morning at 7 o´clock Raili Haapala caught in Rapid
Salmela area 69 cm searun seatrout with Rasanen spoon color firetiger
The searun fishes caught now in two weeks are numbered over ten fishes.
There is a lot of smelts in the river!

Phographing the flyfishing gurus
Oliver Edwards and Veli Autti plus Matti Rantanen. In the afternoon
there was a nice hatch of stoneflies (Taeniopteryx).

1 brown trout with Stonefly nymph, 3 trouts and 2 graylings with
Autti´s CDC-Stonefly dry; Veli 1 trout with Risukoppa (cased
caddis) and 2 with cdc-dryfly; Matti 1 trout with cdc-dryfly. A
sofisticated and memorable day!

A lot of sunshine, but less fishes. The straight of Sando was totally
empty. By the bridge in Kirjais one whitefish 800 g with worm, one small
pike and a rainbowtrout about one kilo with EV-Trutta color Noutaja.

We were fishing last friday all day
long. No whitefishes, we did not find any schools of fishes, but I do
not have an echoload. Whitefishes we tried to fish at the northern side
of Katanpaa. Early in the morning, when we started between Katanpaa and
Kotomaa halfislands, we caught a beautiful seatrout (2,95 kg). In the
afternoon at 16.00 we almost caught another trout. It hit just beside
the boat, and I had only two meters lines out. A short fight and there
she goes. It was awonderful fishing day, seatrout contacts made it
perfect!

Started in the morning near by Hirsalo and fished Attu-the Gate-Heisala
area all day long till the evening. Results: Saka 0,5 and 6,0 kg pikes;
Hannu six pikes (0,5-3,5 kg) and whitefishes 0,2 and 0,5 kg.

In the evening at my holiday
house and fishing two hours my home waters. I caught one seatrout 1,5
kilo. It took EV-trutta, color Pasin Namu. I saw a second one , too.

Bude and Riku
Friday 7 pikes, Saturday about 20 and Sunday 10 pikes. The fishing was
mostly catcth and release. Pike were in the mood and took almost
everything You served to them. No whitefishes. We saw one follower
seatrout about 3 kilos.
Water temperature was in the open water areas under 3 centigrades and in
shallow water areas up to 6 centigrades. The seaguard was checking boats
and fishing licences, bravo!

Touring after whitefishes in eastern Aland : Gullvivan 0, Laxudden 0,
Fisko 0, Torsholma 0 and Ava harbour 5 fishes, biggest 750 g.

The fishes were hitting poorly.
Something to eat we still caught. In Kaldinge there was a lot of
fishermen, and too many had more than one rod. ( With provincial licence
You can fish only with one rod at the time.)

A moment fishing, while driving to my
holiday house. Three fishes, which of two were released ( hooked in
their mouth only) One good one (700 g) for making a meal.
People who are fishing with more than one rod, are occupying the
whole area. Lucky, the control people have promised to come to check up
this situation.

Fishing from 10 to 15 o´clock. Result: 14 whitefishes, biggest
one over one kilo.

Hannu, Saka and ktl
The whitefish tournament:
Sando-Kirjais-Stora Bornholm-Sando. The fishes were not biting really
good, but we caught some units on every of these places. The hot spot
was Sando, where all the fishes were over 600 g, and the biggest ones
over one kilo. Hannu 9 (All from Sando, Hannu´s fishbag weighted about
7 kilos.), Saka 5 and ktl 8 fishes.
The eveningsession was to check up how pikes are hitting in Haraldholm
area. The small ones 1-1,5 kilos were really in the mood. Hannu 5 pikes
(tiger colored Zalt, Silus and Nils Master), Saka 2 pikes (candyman Zalt)
and ktl 2 pikes ( blue Coaster and orange Deceiver fly). All the baits
had to be fished with slow stop-and-go-stop-and-go technique. The
evening was perfect: The sea was calm like a mirror and the sunset was
wonderfully colorful!

I fished about three hours. The saldo: One
lost fish, that means the legendary result NF (=No Fish).
PS: The river is full of fishes, so in the near future You can
wait a lot of tight lines.
Iiro
Waterconditions were good, and a lot of people fishing. Saldos: Iiro 10,
Nikolai 3, Kalle 2 ja Saku 2 rainbowtrouts.
I was fishing with a grain-line and making the flies to swim near by
bottom. This was the secret how I left floating-line men on silver.
Green and white Zonkers were the sovereign, hot flies. I lost two about
4 kilos fishes, Both when they were jumping. The biggest one I caught
was 2,5 kg. A really nice day!
Vyrtsi
Water level Ok. People caught fishes quite a lot. Myself I had a
quiet day: one hit and lost fish.

The evening project was to repair my
boat. The side-project gave 3 whitefishes, biggest 800 g.

Again a day for whitefishes. The
saldo of this thursday was 21 fishes, half of which were nice size over
four hundred grams. Quite a lot smallies about 250 gr, too.

Fishing the same place till late evening: 7 whitefishes 300-1050 gr and
one baltic herring.

Fishing once again. The catch: a lot of sunshine, 14 whitefishes and one
flattie.

The afternoon and the evening testfishing this area. Result 3
whitefishes 400-800 gr, and three "dogs" (=pikes) 1,5-2,5 kg.

whitefishes till 14.30. Fishes were not very co-operative. Markku 2,
Mara 4 (biggest 1,2 kg) and ktl 5 fishes. There is too much carbage on

AND LINE PIECES ON YOUR FISHING PLACES!

Twenty beautiful whitefishes in Nauvo
area. Bombette showed its capacity compared with normal lead weights.
Six men fishing and about 60 fishes caught.

Vyrtsi
I visited today in Nauvo to test first time my luck in fishing
whitefishes. The result was incredible: I got 13 fishes! I started at
7.45 and left home at 14.00. The fishes were eating all the morning.
Biggest one 650 gr and others quite a bit smaller.
Kirjais 6.4.
Markku
Nine hours tuntia fishing whitefishes
starting at noon. After six o´clock happened almost nothing, but
coldening weather. This was the weakest trip of three I have made. The
best result had J-P Pohjola, who caught 13 fishes. He used at the rod
tip a jingle bell, which sound woke up us other fishermen once a while.
My own catch was 7 fishes during early afternoon.

Again fishing whitefishes. The best places were frozen in the morning,
and streaming was from wrong direction. The saldo of the hole day only
10 fishes, biggest 820 gr.

The morning was windy and it rained and snowed. In the afternoon we had
even sunshine. Busy fishing all day long, result: 19 whitefishes of

Learning the idea how to fish with bombette. Fishes were not in the mood
to hit really. Fishing from 15.00 to 18.30. My catch was 10 whitefishes, biggest 900 gr. The others
in this area caught about 30 fishes

Ville, Maria ja Elina
Back in Kirjais about four o´clock. Fishing with Ville and my daughters
till 19.30 hour. Result: Elina, 7 years, 2 whitefishes; Maria, 8 years,
2 whitefishes; Ville, 19 years , 8 whitefishes, biggest one about one
kilo; Markku, 43 years , 3 whitefishes and 700 gr rainbow trout. Medium
size of the whitefishes about half a kilo. The service team was Sirkku,
the mother of the girls.
River
Merikarvia 1.4.
Iiro, Nikolai and Mika
Fishing in Lankoski rapid area. Nixu 2 small rainbow trouts, and lost
one about 1,5 kgs, when the fish made a beautiful jump. Mika and Iiro
both lost one fish.
Small, white Leech was the FLY. Water level is quite high. Nikolai
showed once again his skills, when the fishing conditions were difficult!

Markku, Olli ja ktl
Fishing whitefishes first in Granvik 9-10.00 o´clock, result 0. Then
over to Nauvo with the Sterna ferry, and fishing in Kirjais 11.00-14.00
o´clock. Result Markku 1, Olli 5 ja ktl 8 fishes. Medium size about
half a kilo, biggest about 900 gr.
