Again back in civilization. Last three days gave abot 50 graylings, biggest ones 900g, 5 arctic chars, two about 500 g, one trout  800 g and a small sculpin. The water was low and warm and all the time too much wind.

We have been here up in mountais already four days. The weather has not been best possible, no calm days. Till now 40-50 graylings, the biggest exact one kilo, and 12 arctic chars, the biggest 1,24 kg. Bete Lotto spinner has been a good lure and Bead Head Pupa-fly. I have now the biggest in our team, yesterday was born a baby girl 2700 g, my personal record! I am happy but tired.

"The Fish Paradise" of the Brothers Keskinen Shopping Center = a lousy creek, where they put rainbows for the camping travellers. About an hour and half practising my casting. Again NF. 

Nykalarapids 22.-23.7.

Three trouts and one big id. Bleak-Streamer was the hot fly of the night, the id with Klinkhamer. A lot of fish in the river, but water temperature was +22 centigrades. That did not help our hobby.

A lot of jumping rainbows. Those which did not jump, were in 10 meters depth, when I looked in echoload. One hit. Perhaps lakefishing is too challenging in July.

Nighttime flyfishing whitefishes. Result: Two bleaks and perches. Tane had on a spoon-lure a pike hit. Beautiful lake!

Norway, Neidenriver 20.7.

Now the night was better. At 05.00 in the morning in flyfishing area bridge pool I landed a nice 4 kg salmon. It took a green and white wet Bomber fly tied in #6 double hook. I had some other salmons on, too, but they did not hold and I lost them. There are a lot of 1-5 kg fishes in the river even, if the waterlevel is really low.

Tana, Borsseriver 18-19.7.

In Borsseriver delta about 45 graylings. Again Tawny had the biggest, 48 cm. One about over 10 kg salmon on a while, then lost. Anyway a nice hit and pull!  Waterlevel going up nighttime, but daytime tempereture + 26 centigrades. Now to Neidenriver!

The result of the first night about 35 graylings and one grilse and one bigger salmon hit and lost. The biggest graylings 4 pcs 42 cm and Tawny's 46 cm. Again I was number two only, but tonight the new licences are on.

Saka and Bude

Salmon fishing. Two days of harling and two days fishing from the shore. Result: one hit.

Utsjoki, Patoniva 13.7.

The last session to catch salmons in Utsjoki river in this summer from  two at night to six. Kari had one hit, otherwise grilses jumped happily.

Karkkila 11.7.

We went thursday night to look the possibilities to flyfish in Karkkila rapids. Early in friday morning at 3 o'clock we started serious fishing in Pitkalarapids. It took time to find the place, so poor was the map the licence seller gave to us. We both caught about ten graylings there, the biggest a bit under 30 cm, and one lost rainbow. Our purpose was to fish all the rapids, but the lowest rapid in Saavariver we missed. Poor map and no more licence time. The finest moment of our trip was, when Tapsa found under a rapid a school of "old" eating rainbows. We hooked four of them, but only one landed. Fishes took black, small Leeches. The weather was cloudy, but yellow polaroid sunglasses were still effective. The total saldo of our trip: Graylings 25 pcs, the biggest 32 cm, trouts 3 the biggest 45cm and one nice rainbow. The water was in low level and clear. Karkkila rapids were a possitive experience, only the map was a big problem.

Vetsikkoriver 11.-12.7.

One 24 hours licence in dry Vetsikkoriver. Some hits and jumping salmons. Ktl with Orange Butt a 1460 g grilse.

Utsjoki, Patoniva 10.7.

At noon one hour fishing. Only jumping salmons. In the evening intensive fishing from nine to two o´clock. Again jumping fishes, a couple of bites but total NF.

Teno, Utskoski and Borsseriver 9.7.

Daytime fishing first in Utskoski rapids for one hour. Only some bites. Then the rest of the licence time in Borsseriver to seven o´clock pm. Dry flies were hot again. Some tens of graylings. Two fishes we took with us to make sugar salted breakfast fish.

Flyfishing graylings from five pm to midnight. Over 30 fishes with dry flies and pupas. The  biggest Teemu`s 43 cm. Took 5 fishes to a smokung oven.
One grilse hit.

Salo sea-area 7.7.
OlliT and Ari

We started trolling zanders at 19.00. The first two hours gave only smallies. From 21.00 forward we began to catch legal size fishes. The best time was once again 21.00-23.00. The best lures were low swimming wobblers like Rapala Original 11 cm and Nils Masters 8cm. 15 zanders of which 8 pcs legal over 37 cm.

Flyfishing from 9 pm to 1 am. With dry flies over 20 fishes, 30 - 39 cm. The hit was over, the weather went down to 5 centigrades and the hatch ended. Six fishes we smoked and ate as breakfast.

Utsjoki, Patoniva and Rassiniva 5.-6.7.

Kari and Teemu fished already friday, result NF. Me and Petrus arrived at saturday morning. All four went fishing to Patoniva at 2.00. Not even bites. We saw about thirty jumping grilses, but not a bite. Teemu started his flyfishing carrieer.

Saturday evening to Tsarsriver. Then Kevoriver, but NF. No legal size fishes. Back to Patoniva. Fishing up till 5.30. Again jumping grilses, but no contacts. The waterlevel is now like in
Sahara. Now it is raining. Perhaps monday will be a tight lines day.

HannuR and family

The weekend was mostly sauna and swimming with children. Two pikes I caught with fly and a lot I had on. Me and mysons caught many small fishes with float fishing.
