Aland 25.-26.10.
Pingo
and co

The weather was nasty in weekend. We fished pikes with two swedish guys guided by Vidar in his private waters. We caught 26 fishes, medium about three kilos. Flyfishing pikes was fun, I have had too long since last time.

Once again we travelled to Karkkila rivers. In the morning the temperature was minus four centigrades, but that did not calm us down. Traditionally we started fishing in Pitkala rapids, 5 rainbows two over 30 cm graylings. Our next fishing place was in centrum area, three rainbows, two over 40 cm trouts and two over 30 cm graylings. Fishes were caught in typical winter places, slow or totally calm streams. Leeches were the jitting flies. Important was very slow retrieve.

Nauvo 21.10.
OlliT

I went in the afternoon to Nauvo to check up my old seatrout place. I saw no trouts, even if there was a huge school of small sandeels. I caught some perches and a chub.

Ahvenanmaa 19.10.
Pingo
and Camilla

We fished 2,5 hours in western sea-area of Aland. Wind from west 5 -6 m/s, sunny weather, air temperature 7-8 centigrades  = Perfect weather to fish seatrouts.

I caught one smallie and lost one about 1,5 kilos trout. Not big ones, but in excellent conditions, silvery shiny and fat fishes.

In shallow shorelinewaters there are a lot of small fishes. It is not difficult to guess what seatrouts are eating now.

In autumn it is allowed to fish from shores in Aland. That can be very succesful way of troutfishing. PhotoPingo

Karkkila 17.10.
OlliT
and Tapsa

We arrived to Pitkalarapids at 9.00 am. The first look on the river gave good feelings. Water level was ok and water clear. They had put rainbows into the river two weeks ago, so we could wait for contacts, too. Pitkala gave some nice fishes, Tapsa had with tungsten headed leeches 4 rainbows. I tarined my upstreams techniques and caught three rainbows and some graylings. All together we had more than ten happenings in Pitkala. Next we fished in Maijalarapids. There wwe had only few contacts with fishes.Tapsa caught some 20 cm graylings in downstreams, but upper parts were like dead. Finally we visited our basic hot spots in Saavariver. We saw some rainbows and tailing fishes, but they were too careful to take our flies. We caught some trouts and graylings, biggest trout 45 cm and grayling 35 cm.

Houtskar 17.-18.10.

Latokartanorapids 16.10.
OlliT
and Tapsa

A quick trip to check up, if the whitefishes are already in the river. Water was clear and in very low level. No sign of whitefishes. Our saldo was quite poor: Four 33-35 cm trouts, all marked with carling marks. No sign of rainbows either. We have to wait whitefishes to rn into the river a couple of weeks more.

Karkkila 12.10.
TapioP
and Jaska

Fishing in saturday Karkkila rivers. The water in Saavariver was clear, we caught nice small graylings and trouts (33 cm grayling and 35 cm trout). In Karjaariver the water was muddy. We did not find natural fishes, but rainbows were eager to co-operate. Five fishes to both of us. Black Leech with oink head was once again the best fly.

Uusikaupunki sea-area 11.10.
JaniO

Flyfishing the afternoon on sea-area. I checked up a couple of seatrout places, typically NF. One tailing trout I saw in narrow passage where water flows, but no contacts. I fished awhile pikes, too. Two careful hits and two smaliies landed. Heavy wind made casting nasty, the boat drifted too fast.
Jani "NF" Ollikainen

Situation in Aland 2.10.
Pingo

In saturday our flyfishing club will arrange a trip to Eckero. Then we know for sure, how eager seatrouts hit on flies...

Pikefishing is now hot! A lot of 3-4 kilos fishes are caught in many areas, even bigger ones, too. Fishingguide Christian Andersson called and told, that his clients have even caught pikes 6-9 kilos.  P.Lehtonen's groups have caught masses of 3-4 kilos fishes.

Kalle Pettersson and his groups have concentrated in perch fishing. They catch a lot of nice fishes with nuggi-rigs. perch fishing is now super good all over Aland!
