The Fly of July

                          Pink Pupa

F
or some reason graylings love babygirl pink colour, and july is the time to flyfish graylings. First tests with pink colour I made some yaers ago with pink Crepla Ant and the success was fine. later we have tested pink pupas and larvas, too, and again we succeeded. Important is, that the pink colour is light just like for babygirls. Pink flies are specially good in morning and evening twilights.

Red wire is correct for ribbing. Tie the abdomen 2/3 of the shank with light pink floss. Form the backbody so that it gets thicker forwards.

Tie the vail with pink antron or similar.

Fasten the backshield, use crepla, latex or thin skin (in pic) or similar.

Dub in a loop CDC-herls or other living pink herls. Cut away the ones to the sides and upwards.

Fasten the shield. Tie two very thin rubber strands or f.i. two teal herls for antennas.
