Surfingboard
is one of the developments of "Flyprofessor" Pertsa Kanerva. It
fishes splendidly in warm summerwaters fishes like trouts and rainbows.
The basic idea is to imitate small fishes like bleaks, which are natural
food of trouts. Important is the silhouette, which fishes see on the
surface. Hurt, small fishes often swim on the surface, and they are easy
catches for trouts. Surfingboard is at its best in fast running waters
like rapids in places where the fast water turns into riffs, in deep pools
behind underwater stones and on heavy riffs. Fishing with Surfingboard is
not the way like puritanist flyfishing. You make the fly to swim at the
right place and make it run on the surface. This makes fishes to react on
the irritation and silhouette. In june I was lucky, when I had possibility
to follow how Pertsa fished with this fly in Kituskoski area in
Virrat. How the trouts took Surfingboard, which Pertsa served to them, was
amazing, real splashing hits on the fly.

sidewards and underwards. The backshield is made of adhesive foam.
Because
I did not have in my storage adhesive foam, this instruction is tyed with
glue and crepla-foam.

Cut
the foam in the way in the picture. Fasten it in front of the hook so,
that the broad part is near the eye of the hook.

Dub
withflashabou dubbing the body of the fly.. Leave some stripes in behind
as tail. Christmastree silver is ok for the body.

Put
some glue on the crepla and fasten on it some of the dubbing material.
Adhesive foam does not need glue.
Turn
the shield on its place and fasten it in the back of the shank.
Dressing:
Hook:
Streamer long 3-4x #2-8
