| VIBRATION-RIGS
Originally the basic idea of the
vibro-rigs is from Central Europe. Fishing stores sell these rigs or components (nuggi) in
Germany and Switzerland. I have not seen these rubber tubes to buy in Finland. It is still
possible to tie a vibro-rig with compensating materials.
Swedish Roslagen-rig is a vibro-rig, too.
Mostly it is used in the baltic herring fishing, but it is also very good in perch
fishing. A problem in perch fishing is to get the rig fast enough under the school of
herrings. In Finland Roslagen is sold by the name "Fladen-silakkalitka". It
consists of a main line with five side leaders. In every leader there is a silvery hook
size 8. Phosphorous, small silicone"bottles" are added in every hook. When
fishing in the boat a rig with five hooks is too long to handle easily. A rig with three
hooks is more comfortable. One way to compensate the "bottles" is to make small
drops of epoxy and phosphor powder. Second way is to cut pieces out of a phoshorous
jigtail and fasten them on hooks with super glue.
Vibro-rig.

Nuggi-Hegene is german language and means
a rig of nipples. This rig consists of a main leader and 3-5 side leaders with hook. The
hooks are covered with rubber nipples. They look like the nipples used in baby or doll
bottles. Electric wires have plastic coating, which is a possible substitute for nuggis.
When a good hit is on, this rig works well. In not so good conditions, when fishes are not
really in the hit mood, a softer rig is needed. Original nipples are soft rubber. The
finger tips of a rubber glove are alike with originals. Different colours can be cut
out of small balloons. Hooks used in the nuggi-rigs are long shanked, size 6-10 and with a
small eye. The nipple must be sleeved on the side leader a little bit over the eye of the
hook. The connection can be made sure with super glue.

Some nipples (=Nuggis).
Hegenes (=vibro-rigs) have usually the
main leader 0,25-0,35 mm with five side leaders in 0,15-0,25 mm. Side leaders are tied in
20-25 cm distances. There is three possibilities to tie the knots for the side leaders.
PENDRE
Tie a clinch knot round the main leader.
Tighten up the moistened knot.

SNAKE
Form a loop with the side leader.
Turn the side leader two times around the main and side leaders inside the loop.
Tighten up the moistened knot.

SIMPLE LOOP
Tie simple loops in the main leader and
tie the side leaders in these loops.
